Year 7 students at the school study Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Visual Arts, Technology & Applied Sciences, a choice of either French or Italian and Personal Development Health & Physical Education. These classes are streamed only for Mathematics & Science.
Year 8 students study Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Visual Arts, Technology & Applied Sciences and Personal Development Health & Physical Education.
Year 9 & 10 Students must study the core subjects of Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Australian History, Geography & Citizenship which are mandatory for the award of the School Certificate. To gain a School Certificate students must, in addition, study two electives. the choices the school offers include Music, Visual Arts, Italian, French, Exercise & Sports Science, Computing Studies, Technics Wood, Technics Metal, Technical Drawing and Commerce.
For the HSC course of study, Patrician Brothers' College prides itself on offering a large range of courses for study at the highest level. Students can choose to either persue an academic course of study which will lead to further study at university, or they can study a combination of academic and vocational courses. Students also can study off-campus at TAFE or share classes such as Hospitality, Business Administration. and Drama with students from Nagle College. In addition, the HSC can be studied over several years. Patrician Brothers' College has a very comprehensive orientation program for students who choose to continue their post-compulsory education at the college. It is important that students select courses that they have an ability and interest in, and what will be useful for their career hopes.
