Narma Village School

Namara Village School is a small primary school located on the Fijian island of Wayalailai. To help the school with resources the staff and their families at Patrician Brothers Blacktown kindly donated reading books, exercise books, pencils/pens, paper etc,.The shipment was sent across by cargo courtesy of Mr and Mrs Wykes.

As a thank you, Namara Village School sent back a framed warrior’s axe and a handmade map to show its appreciation. A display with photos has been set up in the library thanks to our librarian Mrs Thomson.

The students are also keen to start up friendships with pen pals from Australia especially those in Years 5 and 6. If you are in Year 7 or know any primary students who would be interested please let Ms Grzelj know .

On Tuesday 5th April Mr Vili Ratugolea, the manager of the resort on the island of Wayalailai, and another local, Jason paid a visit to our school to thank Br Patrick and staff on behalf of Namara Village School. It gave them an opportunity to meet staff and to see our school. It has been great to see such a positive relationship develop between the schools. Mr Ratugolea ensured us that if any families were to come to Wayalailai for holidays they would definitely be given an extra special welcome. Ms Grzelj has a brochure if interested.

Can you help?
Mr and Mrs Wykes have offerred to send over another cargo shipment in 6 weeks. Donations would be greatly appreciated of any items that can be used in a primary classroom such as story books, coloured paper/cardboard, textas, pencils, paint, etc
Maybe friends, relatives and even neighbours might be able to help! Please let them know. All will be gratefully accepted,no matter how small. Please leave any donations with Ms Grzelj. Thank you for your support and help.
